A Wilde & Rowan Christmas!

Just wanted to share a post on a christmassy collaboration that is happening in the delightful North Devon village of Clovelly over two weekends leading up to Christmas!
From the Wilde (online art boutique) and Rowan Tree Studio are getting together to open a real live Christmas Shop selling British Handmade gifts, cards and Christmas decorations in the village.  The shop will be open for 4 days as below:

November 27th 10.00 – 4.00pm
November 28th 12.00 – 8.00pm
December 4th 10.00am – 3.00pm followed by Christmas lights event in Clovelly Village
December 5th 12.00 – 8.00pm

The studio will be very festive with gorgeous decorations and a lovely tree as well as the artists items displayed all around to buy including the decorations on the tree! Complementary drinks and minced pies will be on offer as well as a free gift wrapping service for all gifts that are purchased over those days.

Each person can also make a small personalised tree decoration to take away free of charge.  To follow along  pop over to the blog www.awilderowanchristmas.blogspot.com  as it tracks each Artist as they are announced and details of the stock including some items that have been made exclusively for the shop. The items will mostly be under £30 to keep it all very affordable.  Locals and those visiting the area I'm sure will enjoy the unique shopping atmosphere as well as chatting and meeting other people.

So if you're in the South West(or even further afield) and would love to experience a unique christmas shopping day as well as support British handmade craft take a day trip to Clovelly- I'm sure it will be brilliant day out!

Christmas Pop-up Shoppe!

I decided to open a dedicated Christmas Shoppe just because it seemed the easier option whilst my laptop was in repair plus I wanted to test drive having a Big Cartel shop.
You choose which payment plan you want - they range from Gold which is Free to Titanium which is $29.99 monthly. I chose Platinum ($9.99 per month) as it allows me to fully customise the site and add up to 25 products as well as get discount codes for customers. You are not tied in for any amount of time which means if I decided to upgrade or downgrade depending on the month I could.

The user face area is really simple to use and once I got the hang of changing some of the html to customise the header and the background it was quite quick to set up. Adding products and prices was also stress free and it didn't take me long to get all the christmas stock up!
The Big Cartel team although based in the US were really helpful- there were a couple of questions I had and they were super fast at responding.
The great thing about having a Big Cartel shop is that anyone can buy from it- the customer doesn't have to login to Big Cartel to buy - it uses Paypal to complete the payment but you can still use your cards without having an account.

So far so good...I'll see how the rest of the season goes and hopefully will make some sales.

Here's a sample of what's in the shop and also the special discounts that are on offer. Would love you to have a look and if there's something you like just give me a shout!

Movember & Lemon Popsicles!

Hello there! I don't know about you but this is definitely a busy season for fairs and making. I feel like I haven't had time to stop and share what's going on even though it is something I like to do!
Here are some photos from the last fair I was selling at on Bonfire Day! It was organised by avid knitter and felter Amanda Shepherd of Tiny Vintage and hosted at the Methodist Church in Falmouth. Lots of lovely stalls were present with unique and crafty creations as well as some vintage clothing and other treats. The fair, called Lemon Popsicle Vintage Fair has run around 4 events now and is gaining some momentum in the town.  A percentage of our stall space and the tea, coffee money is going to the Movember Event charity raising money for cancers that affect men. I even decided to sport a dashing moustache myself in aid of raising awareness- oddly people said I suited it- see what you think- I have the proof below...

Here are the photos with links to the crafty people behind the stalls, enjoy!
