Upstairs, Downstairs in my lady's chamber!

Here are some of the images from Teacosy Carousel which happened over the weekend. A fantastic selection of art, illustration, design, printmaking and jewellery all on sale direct from the makers. There were over 25 stalls taking over what used to be the Pier outlet in Belmont Street, Aberdeen-ideal for gallery space due to it size and open plan layout spread over 3 floors. Smart Consultants who organised the event in conjunction with the 2012 open weekend had also laid on some yummy fare and gave ample opportunity for the public to create their own works of art in the DIY section - namely tea-cosy and badge making.
Below are just a sample of products that were shown but hopefully will wet your appetite to expect more from North East makers and sellers.

All the fun at the fairs!

Things have been a-brewing along the north east coast of Scotland and today in conjunction with the 2012 Open Weekend Teacosy will showcase around 27 artists, illustrators and designers all pulling out the stops to showcase their freshest ideas and products! And it seems that Aberdeen is not the only place having a art resurgence. Edinburgh will from today have 2 more shops to inspire creativity and support emerging talent:
Rachael Lamb's Hannah Zakari -43 Candlemaker Row
And if that isn't enough to get your mouth watering hop over to the Roxy Art house, where you'll find another 40 makers at Made in the Shade's Summertime Hop!
So gosh with all this going on you really will need to have a sit down and a cup of tea!
Catch me in person (upstairs) at Teacosy (Belmont Street, Aberdeen) 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday or find my Mellybee illustration at The Spider and the Fly shop.
